NightShade I
Autumn Awakening, Nightshade’s premiere dining event, fused the best bites of the Mediterranean and Orient into a multi-course journey. Guests began with an ahi-tuna meatball drizzled with caper cream and basil oil teasing of the best possible outcome of Marco Polo’s journey from Italy to the East.
For one of the main courses, jasmine tea was smoked into succulent Santa Barbara black cod through a specially designed wok system that pulled out the best flavors and textures of the fish. Paying homage to the richness of the black cod, a vibrant, tangy citrus peel reduction accompanied the unctuous black cod providing a harmonious balance of flavors.
NightShade I was a big success. It was a 4 course menu with an amuse bouche as well as wine pairings.
